Active proceedings
If you notify us that proceedings are active in a court in England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, we will review the content for risk of contempt and may temporarily restrict access while we investigate.
Our review
Requests are reviewed by an editor with training in publication law. We will respond within 10 working days and explain our decision. We do not remove accurate, public-interest reporting on request, but we will correct, contextualise, or anonymise where the law and our editorial code require.
Bad-faith requests
We log every request. Repeated unfounded requests intended to suppress lawful reporting may be published in summary form to protect the public interest, in line with our transparency policy.
